Non-Formal Schooling (NFS)
As part of our village outreach programs, Non-Formal Schooling paves the way for their welfare. Towards this end, ‘Sampurn Shiksha Abhiyan’ was launched back in 2002. With the aim of educating the masses Non-Formal education was taken up first in Kohilawa among the village children. The ‘Sampurn Shiksha Abhiyan’ project has benefited 4 places namely Kohilawa village, Indrapur village,Phulwariya and the slums of Sadar Bazar, Varanasi.
Free education is being given along with free text books and stationary.
It was initiated primarily for those children whose parents cannot afford the cost of educating their children thus depriving them of the most fundamental right

This program seeks to impart them with the most basic knowledge skills so that they develop a liking towards education.
“All our teachers are very good to us and it is because of their guidance that today I can read, write and feel confident about myself.” – Barkha, age 12 yrs.
Under this project two groups of students are being targeted. The first group consists of children in the age group of 5 to 10 years. The second group consists of children aged 10 to 15 years. This year 180 students have taken admission into our programs. Our students besides learning their alphabets and numbers are also equipped with the knowledge of better living through sanitation and hygiene, communication, marketing etc.

From time to time we have visits from the dentist who keeps a check on their oral hygiene. These, along with other developmental programs have been initiated in the villages for the betterment of those communities. |
